[378] Bhikkhus, a female lay follower (upāsikā) endowed with faith (saddhā), rightly aspiring, should aspire thus: "May I be like the female lay follower Khujjuttarā and Veḷukaṇṭakī Nandamātā." This, bhikkhus, is the scale, this the measure for my female lay disciples (sāvikā), namely, the female lay follower Khujjuttarā and Veḷukaṇṭakī Nandamātā.
