[554] [115] Bhikkhus, the appearance of three is rare in the world. Of which three? The appearance of a Tathāgata, an Arahant, a Fully Self-Enlightened One (sammāsambuddha), is rare in the world; a person who teaches the Dhamma and Discipline (dhammavinaya) proclaimed by the Tathāgata is rare in the world; a person who is grateful and thankful (kataññū katavedī) is rare in the world.
