[206] Bhikkhus, I will teach you the bad person (asappurisa) and the person still worse than a bad person; the good person (sappurisa) and the person still better than a good person. Listen to that. … And what, bhikkhus, is the bad person? Here, bhikkhus, someone is of wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi) … is of wrong knowledge (micchāñāṇa), is of wrong deliverance (micchāvimutti). This one, bhikkhus, is called a bad person.
And what, bhikkhus, is the person still worse than a bad person? Here, bhikkhus, someone is himself of wrong view and encourages another in wrong view … is himself of wrong knowledge and encourages another in wrong knowledge; is himself of wrong deliverance and encourages another in wrong deliverance. This one, bhikkhus, is called a person still worse than a bad person.
And what, bhikkhus, is the good person? Here, bhikkhus, someone is of right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … is of right knowledge (sammāñāṇa), is of right deliverance (sammāvimutti). This one, bhikkhus, is called a good person.
And what, bhikkhus, is the person still better than a good person?
