[208] "Bhikkhus, I will teach you the bad person, one worse than the bad person, the good person, and one better than the good person. Listen to it. …
"And what, bhikkhus, is the bad person? Here, bhikkhus, a certain person is of wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi) … is of wrong knowledge (micchāñāṇa); is of wrong deliverance (micchāvimutti). This, bhikkhus, is called the bad person.
"And what, bhikkhus, is one worse than the bad person? Here, bhikkhus, a certain person is himself of wrong view and encourages another in wrong view … is himself of wrong knowledge and encourages another in wrong knowledge; is himself of wrong deliverance and encourages another in wrong deliverance. This, bhikkhus, is called one worse than the bad person.
"And what, bhikkhus, is the good person? Here, bhikkhus, a certain person is of right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … is of right knowledge (sammāñāṇa); is of right deliverance (sammāvimutti). This, bhikkhus, is called the good person.
"And what, bhikkhus, is one better than the good person? Here, bhikkhus, a certain person is himself of right view and encourages another in right view … is himself of right knowledge and encourages another in right knowledge; is himself of right deliverance and encourages another in right deliverance. This, bhikkhus, is called one better than the good person."
