[213] Bhikkhus, one possessing four things (dhammā) is deposited in hell (niraya) as if carried and put there. Which four? Misconduct by body (kāyaduccarita), misconduct by speech (vacīduccarita), misconduct by mind (manoduccarita), and ingratitude and unthankfulness (akataññutā akataveditā). Bhikkhus, one possessing these four things is deposited in hell as if carried and put there. Bhikkhus, one possessing four things is deposited in heaven (sagga) as if carried and put there. Which four? Good conduct by body (kāyasucarita), good conduct by speech (vacīsucarita), good conduct by mind (manosucarita), and gratitude (kataññutā) and thankfulness (kataveditā). Bhikkhus, one possessing these four things is deposited in heaven as if carried and put there.
