[249] Bhikkhus, these four qualities (dhammā) are of great benefit to one who has become a human being. What four? Association with good persons (sappurisasaṃseva), hearing the true Dhamma (saddhammassavana), reasoned attention (yonisomanasikāra), and practice in accordance with the Dhamma (dhammānudhammapaṭipatti). These, bhikkhus, are the four qualities of great benefit to one who has become a human being.
