[73] Bhikkhus, one possessing four qualities should be known as an untrue person (asappurisa). What four? Here, bhikkhus, an untrue person reveals the dispraise (avaṇṇa) of another even when unasked — what need be said of when he is asked? But when asked, led on by questions, then without omitting anything and without holding back, he speaks the dispraise of another fully and in detail. It should be known, bhikkhus: "This person is an untrue person."
Furthermore, bhikkhus, an untrue person does not reveal the praise (vaṇṇa) of another even when asked — what need be said of when he is unasked? But when asked, led on by questions, then omitting things and holding back, he speaks the praise of another incompletely and not in detail. It should be known, bhikkhus: "This person is an untrue person."

Suppose, bhikkhus, a young bride, on the very night or day she has been brought home, at once has a keen sense of moral shame and moral dread (hiri-ottappa) established toward her mother-in-law, her father-in-law, and her husband, and even toward the slaves, workers, and servants. But after some time, as a result of living together, she says to her mother-in-law, her father-in-law, and her husband: "Away with you! What do you know?" In just the same way, bhikkhus, here some bhikkhu, on the very night or day he has gone forth from the home life into homelessness, at once has a keen sense of moral shame and moral dread established toward the bhikkhus, the bhikkhunīs, the laymen, and the laywomen, and even toward the monastery attendants and novices. But after some time, as a result of living together, he says even to his teacher and his preceptor: "Away with you! What do you know?" Therefore, bhikkhus, you should train thus: "We will dwell with a mind like that of a newly arrived bride." Thus, bhikkhus, should you train.
