[251] Bhikkhus, full ordination (upasampadā) may be given by a bhikkhu possessed of five qualities. Which five? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu is possessed of the aggregate (khandha) of virtue of one beyond training (asekha); he is possessed of the aggregate of concentration (samādhi) of one beyond training; he is possessed of the aggregate of wisdom of one beyond training; he is possessed of the aggregate of liberation (vimutti) of one beyond training; he is possessed of the aggregate of the knowledge (ñāṇa) and vision of liberation of one beyond training. Bhikkhus, full ordination may be given by a bhikkhu possessed of these five qualities.
