[260] Bhikkhus, one possessing five qualities should not be appointed as an assigner of meals (bhattuddesaka). What five? He takes the wrong course out of desire (chandāgati); he takes the wrong course out of hatred (dosāgati); he takes the wrong course out of delusion (mohāgati); he takes the wrong course out of fear (bhayāgati); and he does not know which meals have been assigned and which have not been assigned. Bhikkhus, one possessing these five qualities should not be appointed as an assigner of meals.
Bhikkhus, one possessing five qualities should be appointed as an assigner of meals. What five?
