[336] Bhikkhus, without having abandoned six dhammas, one is incapable of realizing the fruition of non-returning (anāgāmiphala). What six? Lack of faith (assaddhiya), lack of moral shame (ahirika), lack of moral dread (anottappa), laziness (kosajja), muddled mindfulness (muṭṭhasacca), and lack of wisdom (duppaññatta). Bhikkhus, without having abandoned these six dhammas, one is incapable of realizing the fruition of non-returning.
Bhikkhus, having abandoned six dhammas, one is capable of realizing the fruition of non-returning. What six? Lack of faith, lack of moral shame, lack of moral dread, laziness, muddled mindfulness, and lack of wisdom. Bhikkhus, having abandoned these six dhammas, one is capable of realizing the fruition of non-returning.
