[343] Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu possessed of six qualities is incapable of attaining strength in concentration (samādhi). Of what six? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu is not skilled in the attainment of concentration; he is not skilled in the maintenance of concentration; he is not skilled in emerging from concentration; and he is one who acts without care, one who acts without persistence, and one who acts unsuitably. Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu possessed of these six qualities is incapable of attaining strength in concentration.
Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu possessed of six qualities is capable of attaining strength in concentration. Of what six?
