[213] Bhikkhus, these nine persons are found existing in the world. What nine? The Arahant, the one practising for Arahantship (arahattāya paṭipanno), the Non-Returner (anāgāmī), the one practising for the realization of the Fruition of Non-Returning (anāgāmiphala), the Once-Returner (sakadāgāmī), the one practising for the realization of the Fruition of Once-Returning (sakadāgāmiphala), the Stream-Enterer (sotāpanna), the one practising for the realization of the Fruition of Stream-Entry (sotāpattiphala), and the worldling (puthujjana). These, bhikkhus, are the nine persons found existing in the world.
