[266] (Siam Raṭṭha Pali §62) Bhikkhus, without having abandoned nine dhammas, one is incapable of realizing arahantship (arahatta). What nine? Lust (rāga), hatred (dosa), delusion (moha), anger (kodha), grudge (upanāha), detraction (makkha), domineering (palāsa), envy (issā), and avarice (macchariya). Bhikkhus, without having abandoned these nine dhammas, one is incapable of realizing arahantship.
Bhikkhus, having abandoned nine dhammas, one is capable of realizing arahantship. What nine? Lust, hatred, delusion, anger, grudge, detraction, domineering, envy, and avarice. Bhikkhus, having abandoned these nine dhammas, one is capable of realizing arahantship.
