[281] 77. Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge (abhiññā) of lust (rāga), nine dhammas are to be developed. Which nine? The perception of foulness (asubhasaññā), the perception of death (maraṇasaññā), the perception of repulsiveness in nutriment (āhāre paṭikkūlasaññā), the perception of non-delight in the entire world (sabbaloke anabhiratasaññā), the perception of impermanence (aniccasaññā), the perception of suffering in what is impermanent (anicce dukkhasaññā), the perception of non-self in what is suffering (dukkhe anattasaññā), the perception of abandonment (pahānasaññā), and the perception of dispassion (virāgasaññā). Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge of lust, these nine dhammas are to be developed.
