[282] Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge (abhiññā) of lust (rāga), nine dhammas are to be developed. Which nine? The first jhāna, the second jhāna, the third jhāna, the fourth jhāna, the base of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana), the base of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana), the base of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana), the base of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana), and the cessation of perception and feeling (saññāvedayitanirodha). Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge of lust, these nine dhammas are to be developed.
