[78] Bhikkhus, an expert in the Discipline (vinayadhara) endowed with seven qualities shines. With what seven? He knows what is an offence (āpatti); he knows what is not an offence; he knows a light offence; he knows a grave offence; and he is firmly established in the Discipline, immovable; of the four jhānas … he is one who obtains them without difficulty; with the destruction of the taints (āsava) … having realized it, he enters and dwells therein. Bhikkhus, endowed with these seven qualities an expert in the Discipline shines.
