[113] Bhikkhus, what is not-Dhamma (adhamma) should be known, and what is harmful (anattha); what is Dhamma should be known, and what is beneficial (attha). Having known what is not-Dhamma and what is harmful, and having known what is Dhamma and what is beneficial, one should practise in accordance with what is Dhamma and in accordance with what is beneficial.
And what, bhikkhus, is not-Dhamma and harmful? Wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong concentration (samādhi), wrong knowledge (ñāṇa), wrong deliverance. This, bhikkhus, is called what is not-Dhamma and harmful.
And what, bhikkhus, is Dhamma and beneficial? Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration, right knowledge, right deliverance. This, bhikkhus, is called what is Dhamma and beneficial.
"Bhikkhus, what is not-Dhamma should be known, and what is harmful; what is Dhamma should be known, and what is beneficial. Having known what is not-Dhamma and what is harmful, and having known what is Dhamma and what is beneficial, one should practise in accordance with what is Dhamma and in accordance with what is beneficial" — thus, what was said, it is on account of this that it was said.
