[176] "Bhikkhus, I will teach you the dhamma that yields suffering (dukkha) and the dhamma that yields happiness. Listen to it and attend closely; I will speak." "Yes, venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said this: "And what, bhikkhus, is the dhamma that yields suffering? The destruction of life … wrong view — this, bhikkhus, is called the dhamma that yields suffering. And what, bhikkhus, is the dhamma that yields happiness? Abstention from the destruction of life … right view — this, bhikkhus, is called the dhamma that yields happiness."
