[102] 8. Thus have I heard.
On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in the Jeta Grove, in Anāthapiṇḍika's Park. Now on that occasion the Blessed One was honored, respected, esteemed, venerated, and revered, and he was a recipient of robes, almsfood, lodging, and medicinal requisites for the sick (cīvara-piṇḍapāta-senāsana-gilānapaccaya-bhesajja-parikkhāra). The Saṅgha of bhikkhus, too, was honored, respected, esteemed, venerated, and revered, and was a recipient of robes, almsfood, lodging, and medicinal requisites for the sick. But the wanderers of other sects (aññatitthiyā paribbājakā) were not honored, not respected, not esteemed, not venerated, and not revered, nor were they recipients of robes, almsfood, lodging, and medicinal requisites for the sick.
