[189] 1. This indeed was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:
"Bhikkhus, not directly knowing and not fully understanding delusion (moha), not making the mind (citta) dispassionate toward it, not abandoning it, one is incapable of the destruction of suffering (dukkha). But, bhikkhus, directly knowing and fully understanding delusion, making the mind dispassionate toward it, abandoning it, one is capable of the destruction of suffering."
The Blessed One spoke this meaning. Concerning it, this is said:
"The delusion by which beings, deluded,
go to a bad destination (duggati) —
having rightly understood that delusion,
those with insight abandon it;
having abandoned it, they never
come again to this world."
This meaning too was spoken by the Blessed One; so I have heard.
