"First he slays himself;
afterwards he slays others.
He slays himself, well and truly slain,
just as a fowler (slays birds) by means of a decoy-bird.
A brahmin (brāhmaṇa) is not one whose colour (vaṇṇa) is outward;
for the brahmin is one whose colour is within.
In whomever there are evil deeds (kamma),
he verily is the black one (kaṇha), O Sujampati."
