[271] 4. Just as one who has climbed upon a small piece of wood would sink in the great ocean, so even one who lives virtuously sinks by depending on a lazy person. Therefore one should shun him, the lazy one deficient in energy (vīriya), and dwell together with the wise — noble ones who are secluded and resolute, meditators whose energy is constantly aroused.
