[316] 10. "Formerly you had faith (saddhā); today it is not found in you. What is yours is yours alone; there is no misconduct (duccarita) on my part. For faith is impermanent and wavering; so indeed have I seen it. People become attached, and they turn away again — what therein does the sage (muni) lose? The sage's meal is cooked little by little, in family after family; I shall walk for alms — there is strength in my legs." Sāṭimattiya Thera.
