[344] 10. The dull-witted one, his mind (citta) bent on finding fault, listens to the teaching of the Victor (jinasāsana):
he is as far from the true Dhamma (saddhamma) as the earth is from the sky.
The dull-witted one, his mind bent on finding fault, listens to the teaching of the Victor:
he falls away from the true Dhamma, like the moon in the dark fortnight.
The dull-witted one, his mind bent on finding fault, listens to the teaching of the Victor:
he withers away in the true Dhamma, like a fish in little water.
The dull-witted one, his mind bent on finding fault, listens to the teaching of the Victor:
he does not grow in the true Dhamma, like a rotten seed in a field.
But he who listens to the teaching of the Victor with a guarded mind—
having destroyed all taints (āsava), having realized the unshakeable (akuppatā),
having attained the supreme peace—attains final Nibbāna (parinibbāti), free from taints.
