Kosiyajātaka

[1674] "From little one should give a little, from a middling amount a middling gift, from much one should give much: to give nothing at all is not fitting. Therefore I say to you, Kosiya: give gifts (dāna) and partake as well; ascend the path of the noble ones (ariyamagga) — one who eats alone does not obtain happiness."
