Surucijātaka

[1942] I was the first to be brought here as chief queen, the wife of Ruci — ten thousand years have passed since Suruci led me here. I, brahmin, am not aware of ever having despised Suruci — the king of Videha, the ruler of Mithilā — by body, by speech, or by mind, whether openly or in secret. By this declaration of truth, may a son be born, O seer! If I speak falsely, may my head split into seven pieces.
