[1943] I was pleasing to my husband; my mother-in-law was dear to me as a mother, and my father-in-law as a father;
they, O brahmin, were my instructors for as long as their lives lasted.
I, delighting in harmlessness (ahiṃsā), living by the Dhamma of my own accord,
attended upon them with respectful care, unwearied by night and by day.
By this declaration of truth (saccavajja), may a son be born, O sage!
If I am speaking falsely, may my head split into seven pieces.
