[2087] Fools commit evil deeds (pāpāni kammāni), thinking, "This alone is better"; seeing this world only, not seeing the world beyond, the fool grasps the losing throw (kali) in both. Seeing this too, I say: better indeed is the man of wisdom (paññavā), not the fool endowed with fame.
