[2506] [This mansion,] furnished with dances and songs,
endures long — yet it is not everlasting.
They of little might, devoid of fiery power (tejas),
have done violence to you — one of great might, possessed of fiery power.
Why indeed, O fang-armed one (dāṭhāvudha) — on account of what —
did you come into the hands of beggars (vanibbakā)?
Did some great fear come upon you?
Or did your fiery power not come to the very roots of your fangs?
Why indeed, O fang-armed one — on account of what —
did you come to affliction at the hands of beggars?
