[1064] That officer (kattā), sent by the king of the Sivis, making haste— with ornaments fastened upon his hands, finely clad, besprinkled with sandalwood, his head bathed in water, wearing jewelled earrings— approached the delightful city, the residence of Vessantara. There he saw the prince delighting in his own city, surrounded by ministers, like Vāsava of the Thirty gods.
