[303] Truly, friend Puṇṇamukha, on eight grounds a woman despises her husband: through his being poor, through his being sickly, through his being old, through his being a drunkard, through his being a fool, through his being heedless, through his compliance in all tasks, and by his not producing wealth of every kind. Truly, friend Puṇṇamukha, on these eight grounds a woman despises her husband.
And on this there is this further saying:
"One who is poor, and one who is ailing too, one who is old, a drunkard,
one who is heedless, and one become a fool, one dull, neglectful in his tasks —
out of her longing for every pleasure she despises such a husband."
