[542] Dark dogs and brindled ones, vultures, and flocks of ravens — dreadful — devour (them); fear indeed takes hold of me, O charioteer, at the sight. I ask you, Mātali, charioteer of the devas: what evil, pray, did these mortals do, that flocks of ravens devour these people?
