[546] Others moan in the pit of embers— men weeping, their bodies burned all over. Truly, fear seizes me, O charioteer (sūta), at the sight. I ask you, Mātali, charioteer of the devas: what evil, pray, did these mortals do, that these people moan in the pit of embers?
