[594] Mounted upon the divine vehicle, the horse-drawn car yoked with a thousand steeds,
the great king, as he journeyed on, beheld this assembly hall of the devas (devasabhā).
Just as the sky in autumn appears radiant blue,
of such likeness is this celestial mansion (byamha), fashioned of beryl (veḷuriya).
"Joy indeed fills me, O charioteer (sūta), at the sight;
I ask you, Mātali, charioteer of the devas:
what, pray, do they call this celestial mansion?"
