[596] The devas, seeing that the king had come, rejoiced to welcome him:
"Welcome to you, great king! And not unwelcome is your coming.
Sit now, royal sage (rājisi), in the presence of the king of the devas."
Sakka rejoiced to welcome him, the Vedeha (king of Videha), lord of Mithilā;
and Vāsava invited him with pleasures and with a seat:
"It is good indeed that you have arrived at the abode of the wielders of mastery (vasavattī).
Dwell, royal sage, among the devas endowed with the fulfilment of every pleasure;
among the devas of Tāvatiṃsa enjoy pleasures not of human kind."
