[111] **"Purification (saṃsuddhi) comes to a man through what is seen"** means: through the seeing of forms with eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) there is for a man purity, full purity, complete purity; release, liberation, complete liberation — a man is purified, fully purified, completely purified; he is released, liberated, completely liberated. Therefore it is said, "purification comes to a man through what is seen."
