[199] **So too... a beloved person (evampi piyāyitaṃ janaṃ)**: the word "so" (evaṃ) is what brings the simile to completion (opammasampaṭipādanā). **A beloved person**: a person who is beloved, cherished as one's own (piyāyitaṃ mamāyitaṃ janaṃ) — a mother, or a father, or a brother, or a sister, or a son, or a daughter, or a friend, or a companion, or a relative and kinsman by blood — thus, "so too... a beloved person."
