[205] Those who are greedy (giddhā), attached to things cherished as "mine" (mamāyita), do not abandon sorrow (soka), lamentation (parideva), and stinginess (macchara); therefore the sages (muni), seeing security (khema), abandoned possession (pariggaha) and wandered forth.
