[262] **"One should not conceive oneself superior on that account"** means: by that conduct of seclusion (viveka) one should not become haughty (uṇṇatiṃ na kareyya), should not exalt oneself, should not conceive conceit (māna), [1] should not become obstinate (thambha); one should not on that account generate conceit; one should not form a bond (bandha); one should not on that account be stiff, rigid, carrying the head aloft. Hence it is said: **"One should not conceive oneself superior on that account."**
