[357] **"In whom there is neither 'equal' nor 'unequal' (yasmiṃ samaṃ visamaṃ vāpi natthi)"**: in whichever Arahant whose taints (āsava) are destroyed there is no conceit (māna) thinking "I am equal," no excessive conceit (atimāna) thinking "I am superior," no conceit of inferiority (omāna) thinking "I am inferior" — it does not exist, it is not found; it is abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). Therefore: "In whom there is neither 'equal' nor 'unequal'."
