[468] **"Depending on that, desire arises" (tamūpanissāya pahoti chando):** depending on the agreeable and the disagreeable (sātāsāta), depending on pleasure and pain (sukhadukkha), depending on joy and grief (somanassa-domanassa), depending on the desirable and the undesirable (iṭṭhāniṭṭha), depending on attraction and repulsion (anunaya-paṭigha), desire (chanda) comes to be, arises, is born, is fully born, is produced, is fully produced. Hence, "depending on that, desire arises."
