[478] **"When what does not exist do these not come to be?"** means: when what does not exist, is not found, [1] is not apprehended, do the pleasant and the unpleasant (sātāsātā) not come to be, not originate, not get born, not get generated, not arise, not come into manifestation — hence, "When what does not exist do these not come to be?"
