[517] **Having known, released, one does not enter into dispute (ñatvā vimutto na vivādameti)**: *Having known* — having known, having understood, having weighed, having judged, having made clear, having made evident. [1] *Released* — released, liberated (vimutto), fully released, well released through the ultimate liberation by non-clinging (accanta-anupādāvimokkha): having known, having understood, having weighed, having judged, having made clear, having made evident that "all conditioned things (saṅkhārā) are impermanent," one is released, liberated, fully released, well released through the ultimate liberation by non-clinging; that "all conditioned things are suffering (dukkha)," that "all dhammas are not-self (anattā)" … that "whatever is of a nature to originate, all that is of a nature to cease" — having known, having understood, having weighed, having judged, having made clear, having made evident this, one is released, liberated, fully released, well released through the ultimate liberation by non-clinging. Thus, "having known, released."
**He does not enter into dispute (na vivādameti)**: he does not make quarrel, he does not make strife, he does not make contention, he does not make dispute, he does not make discord.
For this was said by the Blessed One: "A bhikkhu whose mind (citta) is thus liberated, Aggivessana, concurs with no one and disputes with no one; and whatever is spoken in the world, by that he expresses himself without grasping it." Thus, "having known, released, he does not enter into dispute."
#1 M[arammavāsī, Burmese edition]: "vimutto ti."
