[609] **Seeing as safety the ground of non-dispute:** "the ground of non-dispute" is said to be the deathless Nibbāna — that which is the stilling of all formations (saṅkhāra), the relinquishment of all acquisitions (upadhi), the destruction of craving (taṇhā), dispassion, cessation, Nibbāna. Seeing, beholding, looking upon, contemplating, and examining this ground of non-dispute as safety, as protection, as shelter, as refuge, as fearlessness, as the imperishable, as the deathless, as Nibbāna — thus, "seeing as safety the ground of non-dispute." Therefore the Blessed One said:
For this is a small thing, not sufficient for peace;
I declare that dispute has two fruits;
seeing this too, one should not dispute,
seeing as safety the ground of non-dispute.
