[608] **Having seen this too, one should not dispute** — **Having seen this too**: having seen, beheld, weighed, judged, made clear, and made evident this danger (ādīnava) in quarrels over views (diṭṭhi), in contentions over views, in strife over views, in disputes over views, in altercations over views — thus, "having seen this too."
**One should not dispute**: one should not make a quarrel, should not make contention, should not make strife, should not make a dispute, should not make an altercation; one should abandon quarrel, contention, strife, dispute, and altercation, should dispel it, make an end of it, and bring it to non-existence; one should be one who keeps far from quarrel, contention, strife, dispute, and altercation — abstaining, wholly abstaining, departed from it, escaped from it, released from it, detached from it — and one should dwell with a mind (citta) made free of boundaries — thus, "having seen this too, one should not dispute."
