[677] **Putting forward a preconceived view (pakappitaṃ diṭṭhi purekkharāno)**: he puts forward a view (diṭṭhi) that is preconceived, constructed, and settled; he goes about having placed that view in front of him — he goes about with view as his banner, with view as his standard, with view as his dominant influence, surrounded by view. Therefore it is said: "putting forward a preconceived view."
