[702] **How, having seen, is a bhikkhu quenched?** — How, having seen, having beheld, having weighed, having judged, having discerned, having made clear, does he extinguish his own lust (rāga), extinguish hatred, extinguish delusion; extinguish anger (kodha), grudging (upanāha), denigration (makkha), domineering (paḷāsa), envy (issā), avarice (macchariya), deceit (māyā), hypocrisy (sāṭheyya), obstinacy (thambha), contentiousness (sārambha), conceit (māna), arrogance (atimāna), vanity (mada), heedlessness (pamāda), all defilements (kilesa), all misconduct (duccarita), all disquiets (daratha), all fevers (pariḷāha), all torments (santāpa), all unwholesome volitional formations (akusalābhisaṅkhāra) — extinguish them, calm them, still them, quiet them, allay them? **A bhikkhu**: a bhikkhu who is a good worldling (kalyāṇaputhujjana) or a bhikkhu who is a learner (sekha). Thus: "How, having seen, is a bhikkhu quenched?"
