Hankering (jappanā), too, is a term for craving — that is, lust, passion, … covetousness, greed, the unwholesome root. As to "I call the swift current hankering": I call, tell, teach, make known, establish, disclose, analyze, make plain, and proclaim the swift current to be hankering. Therefore it is said, "I call the swift current hankering."
