[202] **"Whoever"** means: whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī"** means: … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense. **"After the meal" (pacchābhattaṃ)** means: from when midday has passed until the sun has set. **"A family" (kulaṃ)** means: there are four families — a khattiya family, a brāhmaṇa family, a vessa family, a sudda family. **"Having approached"** means: having gone there. **"Without asking the owners"** means: without asking the person in that family who is the owner with authority to give (permission). **"A seat" (āsanaṃ)** means: a place for sitting cross-legged (pallaṅkassa okāso) is what is so called. **"Should sit down upon it"** means: she sits down upon it — an offense (āpatti) of pācittiya. **"Should lie down upon it"** means: she lies down upon it — an offense of pācittiya. *(Variant note in source: M.
