[347] **"Whatever (yā pana)"** means: whoever, of whatever sort … [flagged elision] **"Bhikkhunī"** means: … [flagged elision] this is the bhikkhunī intended in this sense. **"Family (kula)"** means: there are four families — a khattiya family, a brāhmaṇa family, a vessa family, and a sudda family. **"Should be stingy (maccharinī assa)"** means: thinking, "How might the bhikkhunīs not come?" she speaks dispraise of the family in the presence of the bhikkhunīs — an offense of pācittiya. Or she speaks dispraise of the bhikkhunīs in the presence of the family — an offense of pācittiya.
